“I don’t remember a time in my life when I wasn’t creating something.”

For more than 20 years, my creativity found its home flipping and recreating vintage finds. I loved rescuing forgotten pieces and transforming them into colorful, whimsical works that could be loved again. There was something deeply satisfying about seeing beauty where others saw something worn or ordinary, each piece reminded me that with a little imagination and care anything could have a second chance.

Then, in 2021, life changed.

After losing Fretz-the second of our 3 pugs and my constant side by side companion-I found myself searching for a way to navigate grief. I picked up my paintbrush-not because I planned to become an artist, but I needed somewhere to place my emotions.

Painting became my quiet place.

One brushstroke became another, and before long I wasn’t just learning to paint-I was learning to heal.

Today, I work primarily in acrylics, drawing, collage-mixed media. My paintings are not meant to be realistic. While many are abstract there are others that are fun-filled and whimsical such as my western collections. Painting intuitively is at the heart of nearly everything I create.

Whatever I’m creating, my hope is always to bring a sense of curiosity, joy, and possibility.

I believe creativity has the power to transform.

It transformed grief into hope.

And every time I step into my studio, it reminds me that beauty is often found in layers, in the imperfections, and in the courage to simply begin.

So, if you're wondering how a vintage furniture artist became a mixed media artist, the answer is simple: I just kept following where creativity led me. And I’m still following it today.

Thank you for being here and for joining me on this journey. I hope my work brings a little beauty, a little joy, and perhaps even a little healing into your life.
